TEAM COMPOSITION

1.  Individual team sizes shall be limited to a maximum of 33 players.  If registration numbers for a team exceed 33 players, that team must divide into at least 2 teams of at least 17 players each.  A franchise may choose, at their own discretion, to split teams with less than 34 players.

TEAM DIVISION FOR EACH AGE GROUP:

1. Minors (7, 8, and 9* year olds) - An equal number, (+/- 1), of 7 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Minors team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 8 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Minors team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 9 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Minors team following a split.

*The 9 year-old players must meet the requirements in SR4:ART: 4-1(a).

2. Major J.V. (9, 10, and 11* year olds) - An equal number, (+/- 1), of 9 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Major J.V. team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 10 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Major J.V. team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 11 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Major J.V. team following a split.

*The 11 year-old players must meet the requirements in SR4:ART: 4-4(a).

3. Major Varsity (11 and 12* year olds) - An equal number, (+/- 1), of 11 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Major Varsity team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 12 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Major Varsity team following a split. 

*The 12 year-old players must meet the requirements in SR4:ART: 4-7(a).

4. Senior J.V. (12 and 13* year olds) - An equal number, (+/- 1), of 12 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Senior J.V. team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 13 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Senior J.V. team following a split.

*The 13 year-old players must meet the requirements in SR4:ART: 4-10(a).

5. Senior Varsity (13 and 14* year olds) - An equal number, (+/- 1), of 13 year-olds shall be placed on each resulting Senior Varsity team following a split.  An equal number, (+/- 1), of 14 year olds shall be placed on each resulting Senior Varsity Team following a split.

*The 14 year-old players must meet the requirements in SR4:ART: 4-13(a).

RETURNING FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND CHEERLEADERS:

1. Both players and cheerleaders are assigned to the same franchise from the previous year, unless released by the previous Franchise Head Coach and approved by the Franchise Head Coach receiving the out of district player or by a participant's own request and such request is approved by the Board.

2a.  This is a "grandfathered" rule that only applies to participants in the TCYFL 2005 season that participated as an out of district participant.  No team shall consist of more than three players on each team from out of district and those players must be children of a certified coach or certified team coordinator. If not the player will return to his or her district team.

2b.  There will be no out of district participants allowed in the TCYFL with the exception of the participants that were released under rule #1 or meet the "grandfathered" rule requirements in rule #2a.

3. A coach is defined as a person who has completed the coaches certification and attends a minimum of 2 full practices per week.

4. Any player/cheerleader attending private school or being home schooled shall play for their local public school district based on physical address.

5. You may not bring a player up or move one down after the start of the first game.

6. Players may play up in the next age group with Franchise Head Coach, Team Coach, and parents/guardian’s permission.  No player may play down an age level.

7. The Board of Directors shall decide annually the times and places for sign-up and make public announcements.

8. Player/cheerleader candidates shall sign up on the form, electronic or paper, provided by the TCYFL.

9. Each Franchise Head Coach will supply a list of out of district players and their out of district coaches to the TCYFL Director of Rules and Over Sight one week prior to the Jamboree.
