Criminal Background Check Policy

A volunteer must complete a criminal background check as
provided by the league.  Such background
check may or may not be funded by the TCYFL. 

The following will be grounds for automatic rejection of a candidate’s
registration:

     All Sex Offenses – Regardless of the amount of time since the offense.

          Examples include but are not limited to: child molestation, rape, sexual assault,
          sexual battery, sodomy, prostitution, solicitation, indecent exposure, etc.

     All Violent Felony Offenses – Regardless of the amount time since offense.

          Examples include but are not limited to: murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault,
          kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, etc.

     All Non Violent Felony Offenses and Non Sexual Felony Offenses within the past 10 years from August 1st
     of the current season year.

          Examples include but are not limited to:  non-violent
          drug offenses, theft, embezzlement, fraud, child endangerment, etc.

     Misdemeanor Offenses that would be considered a potential danger to children within the
     past 5 years from August 1st of the current season year.

          Examples include but are not limited to:  contributing
          to the delinquency of a minor, providing alcohol to a minor, child
          endangerment, etc.

     All Misdemeanor Offenses within the past 3 years from August 1st of the
     current season year.


     **All other offenses not listed above and/or outside the time frames listed above will
        be reviewed by the TCYFL Executive Board for final approval.
